trailer hitches
« on: October 02, 2016, 03:17:07 PM »
I have a 2016 400s, has anyone had any trouble with their trailer hitch? The hitch on my 400s will not allow me to slide in a receiver.

The only thing I heard...and experienced.. was that some wouldn't slide in far enough to align with the pin holes. The hitch/stinger needed to be shortened. I bought several types from Harbor freight that did fit fine but one I had from e-trailer didn't on my Z8.

Look inside of the receiver for welding slag.

Yes I think it's a common problem. Mine had welding knots in the back. And I had to modify a ball mount to fit (ground it shorter). And the holes for the pin are not straight across from one another. I even tried a different receiver at the dealership and it was out of alignment too. So the only ball mount that will fit in the receiver is the one I modified. Good luck, hope this helps.

Mine is the same. The receiver is exactly 2 inches and my ball platforms are that size plus a couple of thousands over. I have had to grind the platforms a bit so that they would fit. It would have been nice if the receiver had been slightly over to accommodate off the shelf platforms.

My 2016 Uforce did also come with a platform supplied (no ball) and fits perfectly. Odd!
Must be a 2 inch metric receiver...lol

Lmao @ 2" metric receiver!
Agreed, bought one from harbor freight and with a little (a lot) of help from a BFH it finally went in.  Pretty sure I can pull the pin out and still get pulled up a tree by it. Lol
