Hay all,
My first post here having just bought a brand new CForce 450 L

I had the bike a couple of weeks, all was well, until I arrived home from a 40km road trip, parked infront of the house, and accidently slipped the bike into Reverse instead of Park.

The gear stick got stuck, and no amount of pressure on the foot break would release it.

Not knowing what was going on I searched and found this forum and posts relating to the problem, but I could not find a solution.

I got in touch with my dealer who talked me through releasing the coupling between foot break and gear stick. He said it is part of the legal requirements for making the bike road legal, but will remove it next service as it is not necessary.

He also sent me photo and video documentation of how to loosen the wire connecting the foot break and gear box lock, which resolved the problem.

I figured I would post it all here in case it can help someone else experiencing the same issue.

Thanks for the information, I'm going to remove this on my 400 this weekend. On my machine, you must apply too much pressure to the brake in order to shift and it makes plowing snow a pain in the rear.

Great info mate, i just did it a few days ago on my machine but forgot to take pics. Unfortunately for me it was trial and error but lucky we have people like you
