Title: CF450 Service manual
Post by: olli on June 21, 2016, 11:53:32 AM
Hello everyone. I got a second hand 2015 CF450L and have some issues with the wiring made by previous owner. Perhaps anyone's got a service manual or wiring diagram for it.

Cheers!

I haven't seen a service manual for the newer models yet. It is only a year old, what did the prior owner do to it?

Power steering on my CF is not working. The EPS warning light starts blinking the moment I try to steer. I already replaced the steering unit and checked the motor which runs fine with 12 volts. After that I found some loose wires next to the fuse box. There's a cable with 3 wires (red, green, violet) which has been cut off (no plug or anything). And at least the violet wire seems to lead directly to the EPS controller unit. But I can't find where those wires should connect to. I can add some pictures later on, so if someone has the same ATV with EPS, could check these wires which would be really helpful.

I've now done some pictures. I have removed the plastics, therefor fuse box is not fastened on it's original position. I also found another set of two loose wires. So now I've got these loose cables:
Cable 1:
Red and Green - seems to be +12V and ground
Violet - seems to lead to the EPS control unit (top right connector on the second picture)

Cable 2:
Green/white and green/yellow - no idea what are these for

Not sure where Olli went. Hope he didn't give the original owner too much money. Who would do that to a year old machine is beyond me. If he checks back, I would suggest looking at a 800 manual. Might give him an idea where to go next. Maybe a dealer might be kind enough to send him a wiring diagram.

Hey guys! Thanks for the replies! Yep, I got some help and information from the local dealer who appeared to be really helpful. It turned out that the EPS controller was burnt after all. A friend of mine replaced short-circuited capacitor and recovered a burnt track on the PCB and it seems now that the EPS finally started working again. I'm still waiting for a delivery of the very exact capacitor (hopefully tomorrow) before the final assembly. But as I now not got most of the other issues fixed as well, I'm very hopeful about finally being able to get the ATV to a spin by the end of the week. ;)

That's super Olli, when I get a problem tracked down and it leads to a circuit board, I'm usually looking for a new part. I think it's great you got that fixed. If you need anything else, please let us know. We will do our best to help.

The cable comming from the EPS could be the EPS test plug, where you put a PDA to check the faul codes on the EPS, not sure, must check the service manual. When the EPS light blinks, depending on how many times it blinks it will give you an error code that you can check on the manual to see what is wrong.
