400s battery replacement
« on: June 19, 2020, 09:52:38 PM »
It’s about time to replace the battery on my 400s. It’s a sealed battery that came with it when I bought the machine new. I cannot check the levels.
It’s been draining quickly this summer and I’ve been caught twice with not enough juice to start. I don’t ride it consistently enough to charge from riding it. It also has a constantly on LED from the light bar switch which seems to be bad design in hindsight.

What would you recommend for a battery? I use this machine to plow so I need a good battery for cold starts.

Thanks

I'm not convinced that there's a whole lot of difference in brands when it comes to ATV and motorcycle batteries.

The expensive ones seem to last about as long as the $50 eBay batteries, so I have stopped buying the "good" ones.

Sealed or AGM are strongly preferred over vented batteries with the stupid drain tube.

Any opinions on Lithium Ion replacement batteries?
There are seem reasonably priced batteries in lithium.

I’ve been looking through eBay and all Yuasa batteries are around $150. Other brands are about the same. Anything that comes up when searching for Cforce 400 batteries is ridiculously priced as well.
When looking at “cheap” batteries it seems like some would work but no dimensions are given so I have no idea if what I’m buying will fit.
I may as well head down to AutoZone and see what they have.
Does anyone have a link for a cheaper, decent battery that they know fits in a 400,500,600,800 CFMoto ATV?
