I have a 2022 Cforce EPS 400. I bought it to replace my old Suzuki 300 king quad.  The 400 is great but I find the initial clutch engagement is not as smooth as the Suzuki when trying to maneuver at slow speeds.  I use it for plowing snow and cutting new trails and general yard work.  I find that you have to throttle up to about 2200 rpm for initial engagement and then the machine accelerates too quickly unless you really control the throttle In low or high.  A bit too much throttle after engagement it takes off like the secondary is shifting to soon and letting off a bit it disengages.  Initial throttle input isn't linear like the Suzuki or a typical vehicle.  My question is if I add a couple grams to each of the primary clutch weights to lower engagement rpm and then reclock the secondary to A1 or even C1 to add more preload to delay the upshift, will this give more torque and a more linear speed control at low speed.  I don't mind if I lose a few mph top speed as compared to the Suzuki  this thing is a Ferrari.  If anyone has tried this or has thoughts I would like to hear from you before I try different things.

The quick answer to your question is...yes, the increased weights will cause a lower RPM engagement and increasing the preload will slow shift-out throughout the range which will cause it to run higher and closer to the peak power range..if it's under that range now. But know that where the 400s and 500s are set is pretty close to the max power range so go easy on the clocking. If it is on B1 go to C1 to start at the most. You can also change the spring in the primary to add to the effect of quicker engagement and also find-tune the shift-out...and back-shift characteristics.

Thanks for the info and confirmation on what Iwasthinking.  I have read that the secondary stock is B1/16deg.  A1 is 25deg and C1 is 34deg.  So that's 2 options to try out at no cost when it warms up a bit.  Just came in from plowing and the 400 can definitely push snow with my 54" blade
