I got bored and had some 3/16ths steel laying around so I made a free 1.5" lift kit  ;D

It was super easy, if anyone wants to do it I can post the dimensions for the 4 small identical brackets you need to make for the front. For the rear you just flip the hubs and in my case everything cleared, some may need spacers depending on your rims. Start to finish with designing and installation took me 3 hours and I am super happy with it.

I left my template at the shop so I'll do that on Monday with a few pictures to go with it. As far as the rear, just remove the rear tires then remove the 2 bolts that attach the hub to the upper and lower control arms, carefully flip the hub over (so up is down and down is up) then bolt it back in. Takes about 15 minutes to do. If you ride 2 up a lot it would probably be worth doing even if you didn't bother lifing the front.

I would really like to see what did as well  :) What you did in the rear sounds quite clever, I will have to have look @ that  8)

That's why I did this, I ride 2 up almost constantly and I've been bottoming out more then I'd like, although not usually badly. I'm thinking this will give me that extra little bit to clear train tracks and what not. I'm gunna go put a few miles on it today to try it out, it's a nice brisk -11 degrees out and the deer are calling my name lol

They don't sell the 2 up 400 here, but I have some experience with other 2 up brands . I have found the rear shocks to be about 2" longer from the short versions and stiffer springs. I haven't had a bottoming problem with the rears. Front shocks sometimes don't like the extra weight in a turn and tend to nosedive. I did lift the fronts 2" on one I had and it was a great improvement cornering. As I said I don't own this model but thought I might add some things to think about.

Took a couple pictures today while I was out. For whatever reason I can't attach the picture of the rear hub flip, but here's the front bracket:

The same shocks are what I suspected. You need something different when you double the load. If the a arms look straight with two people on there, might want to try a longer, heavier shock. Might be fine the way it is too.

Nope, I left it in place. I've disconnected it before and high speed cornering was terrifying lol
