NMK - I ordered the wrong air filter. It fits but it's shorter in length by 50mm. Can I still use it?

Oh..you bought the 4". That's a bit close for the 1000. Maybe use it for a spare but I'll bet that 1000 needs all the air it can get so get the right one. Either of these from what's been said.

I just bought an uni filter that fots the zforce 1000 absolutely perfect. There is no better fitting uni filter. Model nu 8503 st. It's the perfect length and width.  I mean PERFECT size.

I hate to bring up old threads but I figured I'd continue this one.  What Uni filter will I need for the 2018 1000 for sure?  I've got a 6229, 6245, and even that 8503 that cfmofo mentioned (but he hasn't been around since he posted about it) in my amazon cart now.  Does it matter if it's straight or angled, and will I need any adapters or do they just clamp right onto the factory one?  I've read about flipping the stock adapter around so if that's all that requires that's fine.  Also, can I use K&N filter oil?  I have that already for my RC trucks. 

I mentioned the filters to my dealer when purchasing and he assured me on more than one occasion that they now come with a better filter, but I'd still feel better replacing it with a Uni.  As soon as I get a chance I'll open the airbox and have a look.

Take a look in the Info Center. It has the two we know work. The straight one is fine.
