GPS mount
« on: April 16, 2021, 06:24:56 AM »
I just got a Garmin Drive 61 GPS. Now trying to figure out the best way to install it. Leaning towards mounting it on the roll cage. The ball and ball socket that came with the garmin is too small for a Ram mount I think.  Only 15-17mm. Any suggestions? How did you install your gps.

I change everything to RAM mounts..mostly the 1" ball. I use all types for the cage, grab bar and several special bracket mounts under the center dash and over the steering column....all for my GPS and cameras. I use two mostly for my GPS, the one clamped on the side of the grab bar and the one over the steering column...mostly the one on the grab bar. Keep in mind I use an encased 9.7" tablet. The weight is getting pretty close to the limits of the 1" RAM ball but..really no issues. You can see it in some of my videos.
