I had my dealer do the first service on my Z1000 today, at just under 500km (CFMoto Canada recommends it @350km but they said I'd be ok for a bit longer if I were being easy on it, which I have been). I see on the invoice that they used 0W40 Lucas Synthetic oil, but everywhere I look including the service manual and owner's manual I see that 15w40 is recommended. I assume they know what they're doing, but does this sound like anything I should be concerned about? I do like Lucas products so that's a plus, and I have no problem running synthetic oil in it. Just seems a little thinner than I was expecting and they did tell me previously that the first service was important to get the thinner break in oil out of it.
Also, I feel like it has a bad shock on the rear so I had them check it out but they didn't think it was an issue. It slams pretty hard over bumps and potholes, especially on rebound I think. Think they played around with the adjustments but I haven't even been home since they dropped it off to try it out. I took some preload out of the rear a week or so ago which helped a bit but it still didn't feel right. They told me that if they went bad, CFMoto would allow replacing them with Elkas under warranty at no extra cost. Anyone run into this? I'd love to get a set of Elkas under it especially if it's not gonna cost me anything!
