2018 Zforce 1000 max tire size?
« on: February 12, 2020, 09:51:14 AM »

Hey guys, I'm just wondering if someone can recommend a DOT  approved street legal tire for my Zforce 1000 and what the max tire size is that I could run on my factory machine and if I run a slight oversize if possible if it would possibly affect warranty?

Thanks

Not sure if oversized tires and weight will effect the warranty but that would be a question to your warranty provider. My guess is..it may as it will add stress to drive train components...although if reasonable not much. All DOT approved tires are very much heavier then any non-DOT/Off road use only tires so expect a loss of power even after re-clocking the clutch. Most with these are able to go up to 29" without a lift and some even 30s but reports are that they do rub sometimes with 30s. I think if it were me I might look to an older, trusted design like a TA or Wrangler although all these were designed for a vehicle with much higher weights.

I'm sure there are many out there that use these on the roads all the time where they live and can offer more info.

Hmmm.. interesting.. I didn't even consider a street tire like a TA or a Wrangler... I'm not sure they make those type of tires in a 14" application.

I'll have to do a bit more investigation..

I'm leaning towards a set of Traxion Alpha Tires but am wrestling with paying the price for them. I have a connection here for tires (unfortunately he doesn't sell UTV/ATV tires) that gets me great deals on road tires. It kind of hurts spending more on tires for my UTV than I did for the staggered set I bought for my BMW X5..

Thanks for the feedback!

Welcome. Yeah a DOT (Department Of Transportation) approved tire is a tire approved for street use. Down here we look at A/T Truck tires and such for those needs...and they do still make a 14" in many types. Getting fewer all the time though.
