Insulated Center Console
« on: August 25, 2017, 12:44:34 PM »
I don't have many complaints about my UForce 800 yet and I hope I don't find many over time.

The one thing I have not liked is how hot the center console gets, particularly the cup holders and trays.

So, I bought some heat barrier and applied it around the cup holders and the trays.

Without the heat barrier my stainless steel Yeti cup was almost untouchable because of the heat in the cup holder.  With this in, the same cup is now just warm to the touch.  So, if someone wanted to reduce the amount of heat radiating through the center console to the cup holders off of the cyclinder right below it, I think this is a pretty good solution.

I used this stuff because it seemed to be thinnest available on Amazon, which allowed me to snap the center concole back in place without issue.

That's the good stuff...isn't it...the 2000 degree stuff. I've used it on my Brute Force . I bought some other stuff that heat shield and sound deadner for the Z. Won't take the same heat but pretty good stuff for what I needed.

Yes, it is the 2000 degree stuff.  It wasn't too expensive since I only needed a small sheet.
