2015 ZForce 800 EX
« on: July 12, 2015, 09:00:05 PM »
I'm from York, Pa. I've had my ZForce for a few months now and love it. My wife and I have been to numerous trails throughout Pa and the ZForce has handled everything that we've thrown at it. Next up is some doors!

I can't believe I have never thought to strap through the rims. I will have to keep that as an option.

I strap them through the rims because when I raced sprint cars we strapped the car down over the tires so the suspension could move freely. Not too sure if it matters with these or not, just got into the mind set to do it this way.

I second that.  I've been running straps up high underneath the front fenders and going to the frame (see photo).  I bought a d shackle for my hitch receiver that I've been using on the back and it works great, but I'm going to give this a try.

I always strap/chain vehicles by either the tyres/wheels of the suspension arms near the hubs. By doing this it allows the vehicle to move on its suspension as the trailer goes through bumps in the road. If you strap/chain the body it will slacken the straps/chains as your trailer goes over a bump compressing the suspension, then snap back as the suspension extends which I have seen break straps/chains. The other way is to snug your straps down so tight it compresses the suspension so much that it cannot compress any more (on the bump stops) but this will not do your springs much good.

I've also looked into putting D-rings in my trailer for wheel bonnets for that reason, but just haven't gotten around to it.
