Because Photobucket will stop 3rd-party hosting on all paid accounts except the most expensive next year, I am starting to do my how-tos on video so here the one adapting the TwinAir to one of the canisters.

NMK,

Nice work, What is the part # for the twin air you are using. Are you going to use it on both the Air and CVT, and are you running it dry or oiled.

It's the one we use for the 800s, #156052FR. I am running it oiled and on the engine side. For now I am keeping the dry filter on the CVT side as it came cause it will need cleaned-out more often anyway.

This one.  https://www.amazon.com/Twin-Air-156052FR-Resistant-Replacement/dp/B004S53IOI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1462587877&sr=8-1&keywords=156052FR

Just got back from a test run and all works great...even the sway bar mount relocate was a success.

Well, heard back from Twin Air. They don't have an exact cone type with a 2.5/2.4" base but they do have several straight types that will work in a canister. I ordered the 156140 but it's height may be a little close. If so the next one down is a like fatter but shorter and still has the 2.4" base.

For now the cone filter is working just fine but having a backup when camping would be a plus.

Well, the 156140 is too tall...by an 1.5". So..I guess I am cutting it down but I think I'll make it an even 2" to give good room for air flow around the sides. The 156083FR might be OK on length but that extra 10mm in diameter will leave a hair over a 1/4" between it and the case on the sides.

NMK,

Good to know about the filter length.
I ordered up #156052FR and plan to use it on the air intake side.
Like yourself, I plan to be cleaning out the CVT often.

No but I'm sure they are as good if not better then the rest. For me I assume I will either change or modify something in the future so I go with stuff that I don't mind altering or throwing in a junk box.

I think I need to report something. Every time I clean the TwinAir in the stack can filter there has been some fine particles or dusting on the tube after the filter...even though every time I clean it with a soft rag and some filter oil to catch some of what gets by. I have inspected every connection to ensure there is no air leaks yet every time there is this dusting on the tubes. This means to me.. that the TwinAir is letting some stuff by. T.G. I have the other UniFilter in the box. I have another type of TwinAir for a spare filter for that can filter I will install for now but..the cone-type TwinAir..which many of us use as a primary filter...will not be going back in mine. Because of this, I can no longer recommend it. There may be another reason for the dust getting by..and if I find it I'll report it.

I know I quote this ad nauseam but ever since I bought one each of brand new Uni and Twin Air filters in order to compare them, and found that on holding up to the room light I could see hundreds of pinpricks of raw light right through the flimsy foam of the Twin Air, I lost all confidence in Twin Air 'filters'. I'll throw it away before ever selling it to anyone, but I want to keep it as an example.
ps. the Uni, held to the light and eye right against the hole, was black as a tomb.

I remember your post about it so tonight I too held it up to the light and..sure as sh*t.. there was many pin-sized points of light coming straight through the top. So..out with the TwinAir. Just ordered the Uni UP-6245ST for the can. Has to be better. All UNIs are much thicker and like you said..no light gets through..anywhere.
