Looks good to me  :) I would expect you will find very little dust in the main air box & very healthy filter. You really have three stages of filtration....& a big ride! Compared to stock that has to be a very happy owner.

I haven't had to service the filter in the air box in over 400 miles. The last time I looked at it was down through the intake port when I was installing the plumbing over to the side of the bed. Still looked clean and red as the day I installed it. Now it has some miles with this new setup so...we'll see.

Well, pulled the air box cover off. Found only a light dusting on the surface and a slight amount on the filter surface. Not enough to clean the filter but I did it anyway.. So, with the other Unifilter on top I never got anything to the airbox but with this dry type filter I am. I can either leave it alone, spray the filter with fabric filter oil and capture 90% of what it was missing or change out the filter to the TwinAir and capture 99.99%. Both of the last two options will make it tougher on the trail to service but will be the better protection and will keep me from having to service the air box filter as often where none will be true with the first option.

One disturbing thing I found was some trace dust in the intake track after the air box filter. Oddly, none was found on the inside of the filter or inside the connector tube between the filter and the rubber flange. Just after the connector...which would tell me either it's got a leak on the flange clamp or the boot/flange has a leak somewhere. I'll be taking all that apart..trust me. :)

Ok so...I decided to shorten them...a little. 3"s is about all I am willing to do right now. I think I'm still fine on the dust zone and it does look...less awkward..and like a Mack truck...lol. Now I want to get some black heat-shrink and wrap the clamps so they don't stand out.

Looks awesome. I plan on doing this in the near future. The other thing I noticed is how clean your machine is. It seams like no matter how much I wash it there is still mud somewhere. So I now just make sure the underneath is mud free e.g.. the shocks, break lines and throttle cable and any other moving parts. Lol anyway nice ride you have there

I found that a pressure washer is worth it's weight.. along with spraying it down with SC-1 after words. Makes stuff come off easier too.

Cool I will have to look into a pressure washer which may not be a bad thing since the north side of my house is looking mossy  ;D

With hardly anything in the airbox after 400 miles it looks like you have finally nailed it. The snorkels look good blending into the roof line, any lower may not look as good. I like the idea of just being able to blow them out on the trail or at home, I guess you have a compressor on your truck for those camping trips.

I do take a small compressor and it does OK but I have a tap rigged-up off the water heater on the camper that does real well. Plenty of water in the camper.

Most of that dirt in the box came through the dry filter. It did that before with another one I tried before. I oiled it with K&N oil and it worked much better....so I did that with this one except with NoToil fabric filter oil. Way stickier then K&N's oil. Good enough for now but I want a larger cone TwinAir to put in the can then the one I have.. so I need to contact them and see what I can get.

I didn't really like the looks of all those clamps and wanted to cover them so I got some 1/2" black shrink tubing and fixed that. I like this better and I even let it have some pockets for the ends to move in and out of.
