Went to the local dealer and picked up a new right foot well for my CF500 to replace the original I caught the edge of on the shed door backing out last month. I riveted it back together with aluminium strip and pop rivets as a temporary fix, then last time at the farm a small log got jammed under the guard and broke a bigger piece out of it. Ordered last Thursday and arrived today Tuesday. Great service from local bloke.  :D

I have only added a 22" light bar and some blue and white flashing LED's.  I also changed to a uni air filter.  The stock one fell apart.  I kept hearing this rattle in that area so I opened the air box up and the closed end of the stock air filter came out of there!!  I was not impressed.

Man I hope you caught it soon enough. This is the thing that kills more CFM engines then about anything else. Even a brand new intact stock filter lets 6-micron and small partials by...all the time...let alone when the end cap comes off...and yours is not the first to loose an end cap. That's why we strongly recommend everyone have a UniFilter or TwinAir ready to install the second you get your new machine home or...have the dealer install one before picking it up. DON'T run it with the factory filter...at all.

I think I did as I only had a few miles on it and they were in the woods only going about 25 mph or so.  It runs better with the uni filter.  It seems like it is more responsive?

I was having an issue with my shifter alignment.  My indicator lights were not lighting properly, and the detents were off.  I removed the rear panels and driveshaft tunnel to access the shift rod.  I simply loosened the 2 locknuts and gave the rod a turn or two.  I applied a liberal coat of Copa-Slip MolySlip to the threads and tightened every thing up.  Now the shifting is smooth and lights are accurate.  I could not believe that amount of mud that had built up under the panels.

NMK, I like your new location for your tablet. Hope it works better for you in that location.

Karmis, you would NEVER consider those 'silly' if you ran thru the mud covered trails we have here in PA. I am definitely getting mud flaps for my 800 Trail, and also doors to cut down on mud/rocks flying into the cab as much as I can.

Berzerk1, we've had a few posts here regarding that exact same issue. I think this deserves a proper backyard mechanic fix for it, but short of a rubber 'boot' to fit around that linkage, or maybe a plastic flexible square 'skid plate' to deflect some of that mud, I have nothing else to offer.
