Review of my ZForce 800 trail after 5,500 km
« on: February 17, 2018, 01:01:30 PM »
Hi, here is the review of my ZForce 800 trail 2015 after 5500 km.

70% of my mileage have been made in winter on snow trail. 30% on summer on hard trail. Not a lot of mud but 2-3 times in very deep mud and water.

80% of my ride are in « race mode », the foot always to the floor and very aggressive ride. Because of that I have made some changes and ajustements to my ZForce to make it a lot more competitive with my buddy SXS.

The first and best modification for me are the Race Kit from CF Moto.
That includes wet clutch delete kit, CvTech Trailblock primary clutch, Power Commander and slip on exhaust. This kit literally transform the ZForce from mild to very agressive trail machine. I have add the autotune on the Power Commander for better tunability.

The second best mod for me are the 1.5 inch wheels spacer. 3 inch total. It make the ZForce trail a lot more planted and help a lot in high speed cornering. Also it make the Z more confortable.

The third best for me are the tuning of the suspension. I have stiffened the front suspension and softened the rear. I have also removed the rear sway bar.

I have other modifications
- fender extension
- doors (custom aluminum made)
- half front windshield
- full rear windshield
- custom air intake with twin air

The pro of this machine
- Fastest accélération of the trail category sxs 55 inch less
- Fastest top speed of the same category of sxs
- Best stability and handling of this category
- very good reliability
- good plastic quality
- good oem tire (for my riding)
- very solid suspension for fast trail riding.
- direct steering response
- very good dash instruments

The bad.
- Very bad seat (way to firm)
- Not confortable as slow speed
- small suspension travel
- low ground clearance

Reliability in my 5500 km of very agressive riding : excellent
Here is what I have changed
-Stock air filter failure
- one thermo switch (I have put a manual switch for the fan)
- one seatbelt buckle
That it !!

I made my oil change every 1500 km with Cam Am oil filter and Rotella T6. (Never have to add oil)
Clean the air cleaner at oil change.
I have changed the diff oil 3 times
Grease the a arm 3 times.
No other maintenance have been made. Never clean the clutch since the race kit have been installed about 2500 km ago.
Absolutely no dust in the clutch.

For me, my ZForce is very reliable and no other trails machines perform better for my style of riding. I am very happy with it !

I will take the time to improve the confort in the next week.

Next review at 7500 and 10000 km 👍

Nice. Good review. If it's OK with you I would like to move this to either the "ZForce 800" or "Thinking of buying a CF Moto" section so people can find it faster in the future.

Careful with that air filter.  I'm not sure what conditions you ride in but, 1500 km is a lot of km betwixt cleansings.

I know but 70% of my riding is in winter. No dust. I have 2 prefilter.
One k&n + one twin air. I check it regularly but it is always clean.
The twin air filter are very good
