Rear wheel bearings
« on: June 08, 2017, 04:08:00 PM »
With less than 3000km on my Z Force 500,both rear wheel bearings are worn out?  Does anyone know the size or number of these bearings?  I am not putting original Chinese bearings back in. The 1 year warranty ended a few months ago

When mine go I'll just going to take them down to my local bearing supplier and have them matched-up with either Timpken or Nationals. And I suspect with my wheel spacers that won't be too long for these Chinese bearings.

I also wanted to add that the shipping on that sight is HORRIBLE to us in the US.  like $50 shipping on $50 in parts.  They can be found on ebay also if I remember right

Each wheel only has 1 bearing. When I replaced mine I could not cross reference the correct one.  The bearing size was not the issue, it was the seals in the bearing that were the problem.  I would be nice to run to a local parts house and pick up a bearing if needed.

Here is a link I posted a while ago with some info in it.  They Koyo bearing did not work.  I ended up throwing it out.  $50 dollar lesson learned.

I had problems finding some too with the seals. No seal, won't last very long. Try Timken 513022. These look like they have them. I lost my dimensions, so maybe someone else can confirm this.

I found the bearing on amazon. The pic shows it open. I ask if it is a sealed bearing and get a no, not sealed. This is frustrating.......

OK, hear we go. There is a real picture of these and there is a seal. At the price they are, might be worth a try.

Not sure if this has the right size fittings, but I used a kit like this on polaris bearings and works great.

Can you confirm that they are sealed on both sides?  I would go to an auto parts store and look at the seals before I ordered. I feel your pain.  I looked for a week an came up empty handed.  You can use a brass punch to knock the old bearing out of the knuckle.  To reinstall, freeze the the bearing and heat the knuckle, it will drop right in.

I dont know about "drop right in" LOL i just replaced one wheel bearing in the front last night and I had the bearing frozen and the hub heated.  Still a 3lb sledge was needed to get it in.  I had to use that same 3lb sledge and a steel punch and swing that thing for about 40 min to drive the old one out.  A brass punch would have been a small ball of goo at that point.
