Enclosed Trailer for Hauling/Camping
« on: August 19, 2015, 10:04:11 AM »
Does anyone have any experience hauling in an enclosed trailer? I am buying a 24'x8.5'  today and would like to know any tricks/tips you might have. My plan for it is to run electrical off and RV breaker box to power a mobile ac/heating unit, a few 110 outlets, lights, and maybe a dedicated line for a larger tool as well. I'll also have foam insulation installed to help with the heating and ac.

I don't have any experience with one. We did look into doing this but ran into the inside not being quite 8ft wide so we gave up. Please take some pictures as you go along. I may revisit this idea some day later

I did have one for hauling but not for sleeping. I would however highly recommend that if you do purchase   one,  make it  all aluminum!  ;D

I plan to document the whole process, minus insulation since I'm having that done. @Jason is my brother so between the two of us well have this thing recorded from start to finish   :P

Just brought it home a couple hours ago so the process begins soon!

Cosmetically it would definitely look better but any other purpose?

I haul mine in a 16'x7' enclosed all aluminum trailer only issue is I have to have someone sit on the back so it will lower the rear end so it'll fit in the door way. It's the same way on both of my enclosed trailers. I would make sure height measurements

The weight is a huge problem if you don't have the vehicle to haul it with!  The lighter the better!

Thanks to everyone for the replies. Wanted to give an update since I finally got to use it today.
I've got the E Track coming in next week, along with a decent lock for it. Also attached a couple pictures.

Those are a good machine, rode with one briefly on Memorial Day weekend.  I have to admit, if I had more money for toys, I might be driving a 900 XC or S instead of a CF Moto.

It's been good to me so far. When I got mine neither me nor Jason had heard of cfmoto yet. If I had, it probably would have been a front runner since I could've saved a little money and we have a dealer right next to us.

Thad true. I've got a 2015 Sierra 1500 with tow package so I'm several thousand under the tow limit but I can definitely feel it back there. Loaded with both machines yesterday the truck did pretty well.

How long is your trailer? Are you able to get two in it?

It's 24'x8.5' with a 78" height. Easily fits my xp 900 and @Jason's 800ex
