EFI warning light only flashes, but no error code is visible!
« on: October 12, 2018, 04:14:17 AM »
Hello guys.

Since the last refueling last Saturday, the EFI warning light on my vehicle is flashing.

I drove a longer tour across the street, the weather was nice and warm. (150KM)

The fan switches on at a motor temperature of 3 bars, the sensor is new.

Now to my question: how does the vehicle display the error codes?

The red EFI warning light only flashes.

How is it possible to circle the mistake?

I don´t want to drive to the repair service again.

Best regards Farmer Klaus

If it flashes, then you must read some code??

I have to check that yet.
I assume that the light always flashes only with the same frequency,
without breaks between on and off time.

a possible fix its that you turn on the egnition with full trhottle (dont start the engine) and turn of the egnition and release the trotthle end then turn on the egnition as normal and start the engine and se if its gone. This worked for me atleast

The manual will show you how to rear the codes through the flashing...the other way is to use their PDA or code reader. Go to page 5-138.

PDA or code reader?

Have you a link for me?

How do you connect the code reader with the cdi?

Have i to use a special app or program?

*I checked the flashing, it is only like a "normal" turn flash with no code.

The machine is 2 years old and was moved for 5.100KM.

The machine and engine runs complete "normal", i made today

a little forest trip with a trailer and 4WD ON.

I have to try out your ideas.

Top of this section stickied is the manual..like in all sections. Download it, go to the page I indicated. There you will place a jumper on a certain connector/wire and read the code. It is in English though.

Dear all.

I looked into the service manual, but there is written the following:

Read the troubles by flash code.
Turn the ignition on, and K line to ground after 2.5 seconds. If ECU Trouble
memory has fault code, the output code of engine MIL means P-code

What is the meaning of K line? And where can i found this wire or jumper?

Is it near the ECU?

And many thanks for the help until yet.

Best regards of Farmer Klaus

As is with all other CFM manual translations, the language is somewhat unclear as it talks about the PDA hook-up and ECU ports. From what I read and is my understanding, they want the ECU pin #26, which is labled "K-Diognose" to be grounded in order for the MIL light to flash the error code through the procedure. The picture shows it to be the #1 prong on the PDA cable but...the wiring diagram (Below) shows it to be the center pin on the PDA port connector. It's color is listed as "P" which I take it is "Pink" so check it.

Understand that this is what I get from reading the manual and hopefully grounding pin #26 is what that actually mean to say. Grounding anything from an ECU is always the last thing I would want to do and ...I wish you luck. Please don't hold me responsible if something goes wrong...lol

Hello guys.

I looked at the diagnostic plug last evening.

The colors and the pins of the plug do not match with the wiring diagram.

Pin 1 = red
Pin 2 = green / ground
Pin 3 = purple = diagnosis wire (K)

If i connected the pin 2 and 3:

The warning light flashes and it is possible to recognize the errorcode:
The error code is P0134

Service Manual says = O2 Sensor Circut Bank1 Sensor 1 No Activity Detected
German Manual says = Error in Lambda probe signal circuit

Now I have to keep looking ...

I will soon upload this information on YouTube as a video.

Why not just replace the #1 O2 sensor? Manual says it's bad.  At least Ohm test it. And what is a "Lamdba Probe" anyway? O2 sensor?

My guess is that you have a bad/dirty connection between the ECU and the O2 Sensor.

I say that because there are no codes tripped to indicate the heater circuit is failed or that the signal is out of range.

Check all the connections for corrosion, physical damage, or loose contact, and check for voltage to the sensor at the connector plug.

Hello Guys.

I checked the fuse of the heating circut, its OK.

So i ordered a new O2 Sensor and mounted it today.

I choosed one of the automobil spare parts with the same connector.

It is in my opinion 100% identical to the original, but cheaper.

But let us now come to the problem!

The error is not gone and the beautiful EFI indicator light is still flashing.

So I would probably have to clear the error memory.

I tried to disconnect it with the battery, was not a success.

Any good ideas?

Did you check for voltage at the sensor harness plug? One is heater power, and one is O2 initial voltage.
